The site supports an announcement block; individual member profiles and contact forms; personal blogs and community interest groups — seperate sections of the site tailored for different groups.
Llanelli open-source community is a voluntary grouping of Christians, based within the Llanelli area. The website initially functioned to provide a shared sense of identity and community, across the tradtional lines of denomination etc. — essentially something more suited to a post-modern era.
However, the site really came into its own when a youth work-experience trip to India was organised by some of the members of 'Llanelli OSC.' As well as lending itself well to raising the profile of funding events, it enabled those on the trip to blog about their activities whilst still out in India and to be in communication with supporters and trip-followers in Llanelli.
Other community events organised and supported via the website include: sending a crate-load of books to East Africa and a Christmas "Party for the Poor.
